Tapestry Description

Acanthus and Vine tapestry

The Acanthus and Vine tapestry, also known as the Cabbage and Vine tapestry, is celebrated as the first of the William Morris tapestries. Designed and woven by Morris in his Hammersmith bedroom in 1879, Acanthus & Vine is now displayed in his later home, Kelmscott Manor. (It has a dark blue background.)

This French tapestry is woven in 95% cotton except for the magnificent largest size which is woven in 64% wool, 19% cotton, 9% polyamide and 3% polyester. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.

Please note that the largest two sizes are non-returnable.
