Tapestry Description

Garden of Delight

This is the almost square tapestry scene from the Garden of Delight tapestries which are woven in varying scenes: three horizontal landscapes plus two vertical tapestries which focus on the Acapanthus (left) and the Amaryllis (right). These oriental wall-hangings with an exotic feel are from a panorama painted in 1861 entitled “Eden”, later used as a wallpaper.

Today this wall tapestry is woven in France in exceptional 95% cotton weave using several weaving techniques. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
