Tapestry Description

La Manta with four figures

La Manta with four figures tapestry shows four of the figures sometimes called the Nine Worthies. This version includes Godfrey de Bouillon (1058-1100), a leader of the First Crusade, who captured Jerusalem in 1099 and was entitled the first King of Jerusalem.

It is from an early 15th century fresco painted by the “Master of Manta” in Manta Castle in northern Italy. This fine French wall tapestry is woven in 93% viscose, 5% polyester and 2% polyamide. It is lined and has a rod pocket – we supply instructions for hanging tapestries with every order. We have versions available of La Manta tapestry having different numbers of figures.
