Loves of the Gods tapestry
Louis XV tapestries
The Loves of the Gods tapestry is woven in France in a fine 50% wool and 50% cotton weave. Les Amours des Dieux is from a Louis XV series of nine mythological gobelins designed by Francois Boucher. The arms of Louis XV who commissioned the series appear at the top. This one depicts Apollo and Clytie who was the daughter of Oceanus and it was originally woven at Beauvais. Like all our Louis XV tapestries, it is lined and has a rod pocket for easy hanging – we provide tapestry hanging information with each order.
