Description
Pineapple Harvest – right
Harvesting of Pineapples
Pineapple Harvest – right tapestry is half of the Harvesting of Pineapples tapestry, also called La Recolte des Ananas. This is one of the Emperor of China tapestries, here showing workers gathering pineapples near tall banana and pine trees. Note the distant pagodas. This right side matches a left side (RL244) to complete the full tapestry – ideal as a matching pair.
This French tapestry was originally woven at Beauvais between 1697 and 1705 in wool and silk and is now at the Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
Today the Pineapples Harvest tapestries are woven in France in a high quality weave of 50% wool and 50% cotton giving both full depth and fine detailing. They are lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. We have several details available, as well as the full tapestry.
