Tapestry Description

Regattas at Argenteuil – Monet tapestry

Regattas at Argenteuil – Monet tapestry is woven in Belgium in 64% cotton, 19% acrylic, 9% wool and 8% polyester. This Belgian tapestry is from an oil painting by Claude Monet of about 1872 now at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. Like many of his paintings of the River Seine while he lived at Argenteuil this scene shows light colours of sky and water fluidly joined. Monet said “I want to do something intangible. It’s appealling, this light that drifts off and takes the colour with it”.

This Impressionist tapestry is lined and has a rod pocket for hanging. We supply instructions for the easy hanging of your tapestry with every order.
