Tapestry Description

Rosa Gallica square tapestry

Contemporary floral art

The Rosa Gallica square tapestry is a smaller square version of one of our popular botanical tapestries woven in France. It is inspired by the 18th century art of Pierre-Joseph Redoute (1759-1840) yet has the appearance today of contemporary floral art. He painted over 2,000 watercolour botanical illustrations of over 1,800 plants.

This French tapestry wallhanging is woven in 100% cotton with a pale cream background and it is lined with a rod pocket for easy hanging. With every order we supply instructions about hanging tapestries, and about their care. It matches the Papaver square tapestry, making a fine pairing.
