Tapestry Description

Troubadour at the Viol

The Troubadour at the Viol tapestry is from the Chant d’Amour tapestry (Song of Love), part of a 16th century tapestry set at a bank of the River Loire. It shows a couple playing music under arches. Here we see the Troubadour at the Viol which pairs well with the Lady at the Organ. These medieval wall tapestries are woven today in France in 95% cotton and lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. (The lower background is a dark blue.)
