The Underwood tapestry shows a detail from The Jagaloon Tapestries, or the Jagiellonian tapestries, which are in the royal castle at Wawel, Krakow, Poland. This series of 360 tapestries were commissioned by the King of Poland and woven in Brussels in the mid 16th century. This tall, slim portiere verdure tapestry from the series shows trees with leaves and berries in a dense forest in an elegant border.
These are ideal as matching pairs or as a tryptych. The Underwood tapestry pairs perfectly with the Iris, Woody, and Wooden Hills designs. Today all are woven in Belgium in 79% cotton, 8% polyester, 6% wool and 6% acrylic. All are fully lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
