Pair of vertical tapestries
The Verdure Cascade right tapestry is one side of an 18th century verdure tapestry, with the addition of medallions at the top and bottom. It shows a tree overhanging a stream with a town in the background and it matches the Verdure Cascade left tapestry, making a pair of vertical tapestries. The left scene page shows a close-up detail. We also have the full square wall tapestry of this scene.
The original was woven in Lille in the early 18th century and today it is woven in France in a fine 50% wool and 50% cotton weave. The tapestry is fully lined, with a rod pocket – we supply instructions for its easy hanging with all orders.
