Tapestry Description

Vision of the Holy Grail – right

Edward Burne-Jones

Vision of the Holy Grail – right was designed principally by Edward Burne-Jones and woven by Morris & Co at Merton Abbey in 1895-6. William Morris and John Henry Dearle also contributed to the design of the tapestry. Here we see a detail from The Attainment of the Knights Quest, also called The Attainment of the Holy Grail, or The Achievement of the Holy Grail.

The three knights are Sir Galahad, Sir Bors and Sir Percival. Now at the Birmingham City Museum. It is now woven in France in a fine weave of rayon and acrylic and lined, with a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging.  We enclose hanging suggestions with every order. Please note: the largest size is non-returnable.
