William Morris Black Tree of Life
Arts and Crafts wall tapestry
The William Morris Black Tree of Life tapestry is most often seen with a background in dark blue, as in the original tapestry. However the French weaver now weaves this iconic design with either a brown background or this black background. This Arts and Crafts wall tapestry was first woven by Morris & Co at Merton Abbey in about 1910. Today it is woven in France in three sizes in 86% cotton, 8% polyamide and 6% polyester. It is fully lined having a rod pocket – with each order we supply instructions about hanging tapestries, and about their care.
