Tapestry Description

Acanthus and Vine tapestry

Cabbage and Vine wall-hanging

The Acanthus and Vine tapestry, also known as the Cabbage and Vine wall-hanging, is celebrated as the first of the William Morris tapestries. Designed and woven by Morris in his Hammersmith bedroom in 1879, Acanthus & Vine is now displayed in his later home, Kelmscott Manor. This French tapestry is woven by Jules Pansu in 95% cotton. (It has a dark blue background.) It is fully lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging – we supply tapestry hanging instructions with your order.

The upper photo shows the small size which has slightly tighter detailing since the image is a smaller tapestry. Please note that the largest size is non-returnable.
