Bayeux Tapestry cavalry
The Bayeux Tapestry cavalry wall hanging is a detail showing the horses of Duke William embarking for the invasion of England which culminated at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The full 220 feet long embroidery is now exhibited at the Bayeux Tapestry Museum.
This is one of many Battle of Hastings tapestries – this being woven in France in 80% cotton and 20% viscose. It is fully lined, having a rod pocket for easy hanging. This medieval wall tapestry is available also with a blue border.
You might find it helpful to know that the links below all show tapestries woven by the same French weaver, having the same colour tones and yarn. (Four different European weavers produce our selection.) This is especially handy when hanging matching Bayeux tapestry wall-hangings side by side.
