The Jessica grey tapestry is one of very few tapestries originally woven in Russia. In the middle of the 19th century, the czar wished to have the prestige of having his own tapestries for the royal court so he employed Flemish weavers at St. Petersburg. The original of this tapestry measures 72″x33″ and now hangs in the State Historical Museum in Moscow.
Today “Jessica” is a Belgian tapestry wallhanging woven in 81% cotton, 11% viscose and 8% polyester. It is lined, with a rod pocket – we supply instructions for easy hanging with every order.
