Tapestry Description

Midsummer’s Eve tapestry

Midsummer’s Eve tapestry is from a painting of about 1908 by Edward Robert Hughes (1851-1914). His symbolic aesthetic style was influenced by Pre-Raphaelite painters, especially William Holman Hunt and Edward Burne-Jones. This delightful tapestry shows a girls in a woodland surrounded by fairies, perhaps inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This French tapestry is in our Arts & Crafts selection and is woven in 96% cotton, 4% polyester and it is lined with a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging.
