Tapestry Description

Serenade Rouge tapestry

Francois Boucher wall tapestries

The Serenade Rouge tapestry has a central medallion in an 18th century setting, one of the best known Francois Boucher wall tapestries. He was Court Painter to Louis XV and created this design for the Duchess of Bourbon when he was Director of the Manufacture Des Gobelins, Paris.

Today, it is one of our high quality French tapestries woven in 50% wool and 50% cotton. This weave results in an ideal combination of fullness and depth yet with fine detailing. It is lined with a rod pocket – with every order we supply instructions about hanging tapestries, and about their care.
