Tapestry Description

The Grape Harvest tapestry

Vendange Cluny Museum

The Grape Harvest tapestry is a richly coloured version of this celebrated wall hanging from the wonderful Cluny Museum in Paris. It features the pressing of the harvested grapes, the vendange, by a press and by foot. It is set in an early 16th century mille fleurs (thousand flowers) background.

Today this celebrated medieval tapestry is woven in Belgium in 83% cotton, 11% mercurise and 6% polyester, a thicker yet tight weave resulting in both fullness and good detailing. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. We supply instructions for the care and hanging of tapestries with each order.

Please note that the largest two sizes are non-returnable.
