The Bayeux Tapestry

Medieval wall-hanging tapestries for sale

The Bayeux Tapestry is available today with significant parts of this 11th century masterpiece reproduced by French and Belgian weavers. These medieval wall-hanging tapestries for sale show scenes before and during the Battle of Hastings in 1066, the victory of William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, over Saxon King Harold. This remarkable medieval embroidery (not actually a woven tapestry) is nearly 230 feet long.  It is displayed at the Bayeux Museum in Bayeux, Normandy (click on the mauve tab there to reach pages of information).
