Description
Louis XV Garden tapestry
18th century wall tapestries
The Louis XV Garden tapestry celebrates some of the aristocratic pursuits of the reign of King Louis XV (1710-1774). The elegant fashion influence of Madame da Pompadour, mistress of the king is clearly seen in the pink costumes. The tapestry is inspired by a Francois Boucher painting in the Rococo style.
This French tapestry shows the full scene, whereas a pair of 18th century wall tapestries show the left and right halves, both in shorter lengths. Woven in 100% cotton, it is fully lined with a rod pocket – we supply hanging instructions with each order.
