Versailles Promenade – square
The Versailles Promenade – square tapestry is woven in France in a fine 50% wool and 50% cotton weave and is lined, with a rod pocket for ease of wall hanging. It shows the gardens at the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. It has the inscription “Tentures des Jardins Versailles M.DC.LXV” (1665). This elegant tapestry has a fine fruits and flowers border with animals or birds in each corner.
