Madonna della Seggiola
In the Madonna of the Chair tapestry, also called Madonna della Seggiola, we see Mary with the young Jesus, watched by John the Baptist. It was painted by Raphael (1483-1520) in 1514 and is now in the wonderful Uffizi Gallery, Florence. Note the detailed golden border which sets off the central circular composition so well.
Like other Raphael tapestries this tapestry is woven in Italy in a cotton and viscose blend and it is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. With every order we supply instructions about hanging tapestries, and about their care.
