Hearing tapestry wallhanging
Lady and Unicorn tapestries
The Hearing tapestry wallhanging shows the central part of one of the Lady and Unicorn tapestries at the Cluny Museum in Paris. We see a finely dressed lady playing a portable organ set on an oriental rug accompanied by her maidservant. These medieval tapestries all feature the mille fleurs (thousand flowers) background to the central themes of taste, hearing, touch, smell, sight and the enigmatic A Mon Seul Desir.
This version of the Hearing tapestry is woven today in France in 98% cotton and is fully lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. We supply instructions about how to hang a tapestry with every order.
Vera in Ohio wrote after receiving this tapestry: “I love our new “Hearing” tapestry. This is a version of one of the “senses” from “The Lady and the Unicorn” tapestry series from the Cluny Medieval Museum in Paris. The tapestry is beautifully made, full of wondrous rich details. Martin and Linda provided excellent, courteous and professional service . They updated me regularly regarding the arrival of the tapestry from France to them and then to me. Thank you!”
Below is this Hearing tapestry above the television flanked by the Touch tapestry on its left, the Sight tapestry on its right, and behind the table is the larger Taste tapestry.
