Italian tapestries

This full selection of about 100 Italian tapestries is illustrated on two pages. All are woven in Italy by long-established weavers in the Lake Como region which we have sold for 20 years or more. You can view them also by clicking on any of the categories on the left of the page.

The Lake Como area is the centre of weaving in Italy where textiles have been created for centuries. Their tapestry wall hangings are available in three major styles:-

• traditional scenes from the Villa d’Este gardens on Lake Como set in the 18th century
• religious tapestries of madonnas, saints, icons and classical paintings (eg Last Supper),
• and 20th century masterpieces such as Gustav Klimt art tapestries like his Tree of Life.

All these Italian tapestries are fully lined with a rod pocket for ease of wall-hanging. We enclose instructions for their easy hanging and care with every order.
