The Allegory of Good Government tapestry
Siena wall-hanging
The Allegory of Good Government tapestry is by Ambrogio Lorenzetti reproduced from his series of early 14th century fresco panels. The Allegory of Good and Bad Government hung in the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, the council hall, to guide the nine elected officials in their decision-making. This particular piece illustrates the Peaceful City and the Peaceful Country.
Our Siena wall-hanging is an Italian tapestry woven in 53% viscose and 41% cotton. It is fully lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging – we provide instructions for this with each order.
