15th Century Tournament

Medieval knights jousting

The 15th Century Tournament tapestry is a detail from a tapestry woven at the Manufacture Royale des Gobelins, Paris in 1895-1899 showing events at a medieval knights jousting tournament. It was designed by Jean-Paul Laurens and was entitled “Une descente de tournoi à la fin du XVème siècle”.

The Tournament tapestry series is also available in three other formats: see ME155, ME157, ME158. All are woven in France in a fine quality 50% wool and 50% cotton weave. This wall tapestry fully is lined with a rod pocket – we supply hanging information with each order.
