Description
Sight tapestry wallhanging
The Sight tapestry wallhanging shows one of The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries at the wonderful Cluny Museum in Paris. These early 16th century masterpieces illustrate the senses. In the Sight tapestry we see the unicorn looking into a mirror held by the finely dressed lady. The lion looks away while he holds a banner bearing the arms of Jean le Viste who is thought to have commissioned these tapestries.. All are within the medieval mille fleurs background, with small animals.
The tapestry is woven in France today in 98% cotton and is fully lined with a rod pocket – with each order we enclose instructions to help you hang a tapestry.
