Description
The Vintage tapestry – with border
Medieval vendange tapestries
The Vintage tapestry shows the noble owners of a 15th century vineyard inspecting the wine-making after the grapes harvest and sampling their wine. This famous tapestry wall-hanging, also known as the Vendanges tapestry, is now in the Cluny Museum, Paris.
Our medieval vendange tapestries are woven in France in 80% cotton and 20% viscose. All are lined and bordered, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. This is also available without the tapestry border, or may be ordered with separate left and right sides unbordered.
A second vendanges tapestry hangs at the Cluny Museum, the Wine Market. These make a splendid pair. Both are available with either the blue border shown here or the grapes border shown on the wine market scene. Both are also available without a border. Please email us if you wish to receive a different border option than that shown.
Please note that the above image shows the larger size – the background being a dark blue, as also seen below in a festive setting in a Spokane, Washington home. The smaller size has a slightly lighter colour for the central tapestry although the border is unchanged.
