Tapestry Description

Chateau Bellevue long tapestry

Chateaux wall tapestries

The Chateau Bellevue long tapestry is one of twelve Charles le Brun designs, Les Tentures des Maisons Royales tapestries. These chateaux wall tapestries were commissioned in 1670, each illustrating a different Louis XIV royal palace and each corresponding to a month of the year – the Chateau Bellevue tapestry being August. It is woven today in France in several size formats in a fine 50% wool/ 50% cotton weave. This Louis XIV tapestry is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging – we provide hanging information with each order..

The colours here are washed out so refer to the colouring of the regular Chateau Bellevue tapestry for accuracy. Please note that this large size is non-returnable.
