Les Vendanges tapestry
French grape harvest wall-hanging
Les Vendanges tapestry, also known as The Vintage tapestry, was woven in Flanders in about 1500 showing the grapes harvest and pressing. This celebrated tapestry is now in the excellent Musée de Cluny in Paris. It is available today as a French tapestry woven in 50% wool and 50% cotton with a border of vine leaves. This weave results in a fine combination of fullness and depth yet with fine detailing. This Cluny tapestry is lined and has a rod pocket – we supply hanging information with each order.
A vertical format tapestry of the right side, the harvesting of the grapes, is also woven. Please note that the largest size is non-returnable.
