Greenery Tapestry
Arts and Crafts wall tapestries
The Greenery Tapestry is a version of an original tapestry hanging in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This right side depicts two deer and a pheasant – typical of Arts and Crafts wall tapestries showing the influence of William Morris. The original 1892 tapestry was woven at Merton Abbey by Morris & Co in wool and mohair; our version is woven in France in 72% cotton, 25% viscose and 3% polyester. The 1892 design was 7″ high and over 15′ long; ours is available in various sizes and in several formats:
– the full Greenery tapestry scene with its red border,
– the full tapestry without the border,
– the left side with the two rabbits and pheasant with the red border,
– this right side with the pheasant and two deer with the red border.
This French tapestry is fully lined with a rod pocket – we supply hanging instructions with each order. Note – this smaller size has slightly softer colour tones.
