Description
Mucha Auburn Red Byzantine Head
The Alphonse Mucha Auburn Red Byzantine Head tapestry is reproduced from a pair of colour lithographs Mucha designed in 1897 in Paris: the auburn red and the brunette. Note the exquisite jewelry in her hair. (The significance of the Byzantine border lies in his belief that the Byzantine period strongly influenced his native Slavic culture resulting in a classic Art Nouveau design.)
This French tapestry, and the matching Brunette Head, is woven in 79% cotton and is lined, with a rod pocket for ease of hanging.
