Description
Mucha Brunette Byzantine Head
The Alphonse Mucha Brunette Byzantine Head tapestry is from a pair of colour lithographs Mucha designed in 1897 in Paris: the auburn red and the brunette. Note the exquisite jewelry in her hair. (The significance of the Byzantine border lies in his belief that the Byzantine period strongly influenced his native Slavic culture resulting in a classic Art Nouveau design.)
This French wall tapestry, and its matching Auburn Red Head, is woven in 79% cotton and is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
