The Minstrel tapestry
Morris and Co tapestries
The Minstrel tapestry is a Morris and Co tapestries design of 1899, originally to hang above a fireplace. Created three years after the death of William Morris it clearly shows his influences. It shows a musician dressed in a long robe playing a lute in a garden alcove.
This French tapestry is woven in 80% cotton and 20% viscose and is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. The Minstrel is also available without the border, in one size.
This smaller size has a slightly lighter colour for the central tapestry although the border is unchanged.
