The Taste
Lady with the Unicorn tapestry wall-hanging
The Taste tapestry wall-hanging is a popular reproduction of one of the Lady with the Unicorn tapestries from the Cluny Museum, today woven in France. It shows the lady being offered a dish of sweetmeats by her maid. She is looking at a parakeet on her left hand and a monkey sits at her feet eating a dropped sweetmeat. On either side of them are the lion and unicorn holding banners by two pairs of trees.
Today the Taste wall-hanging is a French tapestry woven in 80% cotton and 20% viscose. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging. It is also available without the border (ref ME060A).
Note: the above image shows the larger size. The smaller size has a slightly lighter colour for the central tapestry although the border is unchanged.
