Description
Napoleon in the Forest tapestry
Elegant French hunting tapestries
The Napoleon in the Forest tapestry is inspired by Carle Vernet, a favourite artist of the Emperor Napoleon (1769-1821). It is set in the Compiegne Forest and the design gives a three dimensional depth. This example of elegant French hunting tapestries is now woven in France in a fine 50% wool / 50% cotton weave. This results in an ideal combination of fullness and depth yet with fine detailing. The tapestry is lined, with a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging. We supply instructions for the care and hanging of tapestries with each order.
The central portion is also available as a separate Napoleon hunting tapestry.
