15th century tapestry
Les Vendanges Grapes Harvest is a detail from the full 15th century tapestry showing the earlier stages in wine production, the harvesting of the grapes. The full tapestry of this famous scene now hangs in the Musée national du Moyen Âge, Paris. It is woven today as a French tapestry wall hanging comprised of 50% wool and 50% cotton with a border of vine leaves. This weave results in an excellent combination of fullness and depth yet with fine detailing.
This medieval tapestry is lined and has a rod pocket for easy hanging. Also available is a horizontal version, in three sizes, of the full scene at the Cluny Museum: the harvesting of the grapes and pressing the grapes.
