Beauvais tapestry
French wool and cotton wall tapestries
The Beauvais tapestry was woven at Beauvais in the mid 19th century for the dining room of the Elysee Palace, Paris and is now on display at the Musee d’Orsay (the only tapestry I saw in that wonderful art museum).
It is now one of our high quality French wool and cotton wall tapestries. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging – we provide tapestry hanging information with each order.. Like all our wool and cotton tapestries, the wool provides fullness and depth while the cotton gives fine detailing.
