Description
Louis XV Garden tapestry, right
Francois Boucher Rococo tapestries
The Louis XV Garden tapestry, right side, shows arts and music of 18th century French aristocracy in the reign of King Louis XV (1710-1774). The fashion influence of Madame da Pompadour, mistress of the king, is seen in the pink costumes. The tapestry is inspired by a Francois Boucher (1703-1770) painting in the Rococo style. He was First Painter of the King and enormously influential.
This tapestry wall-hanging shows the full scene, whereas a pair of Francois Boucher Rococo tapestries show the full elegant scene and the left side. Woven in France in 100% cotton, this is lined with a rod pocket – we supply hanging instructions with each order.
